| News: Hot Stove Talk and More for 2010 Norwell Men's Softball |
With plans to construct a new field at Vinal School, Norwell Men's Softball kicks off the 2010 season with earlier registration. Registration invitations are currently being sent by all team captains, and all players must be registered by April 1st.
The hotstove heats up as rumors of offseason changes include new direction from teams including McGreal's and C-Mac, while the Panera Loafer have their poppy seeds set on the 2010 playoffs with a few new buns in the oven. Will the Old Derby Dirt Dogs break the curse with the homecoming of T-Bone, and will the River Rats find a new sponsor so we don't have to call them whatever they are? The league welcomes a tenth team to the league this year sponsored by The Tinker's Son, and headed by native Norwellian Ed Connerty. With season long use of the new Vinal School Field, we will be able to maintain weekly game schedules without interruption and factor in make up dates throughout the season in the event mother nature is unkind as she was last year. The format will remain the same as last year, but with the addition of an outfield 4' high mesh homerun fence. Lastly, the league would like to invite all returning and new players to our first annual "Spring Draught" social to be held at the Tinker's Son Thursday night March 18th.
Any questions regarding registration or 2010 season can be directed to any of the team captains or myself. Hope to see you on the 18th.
